Banana Milonga

Oula earthlings.

I returned from awhile ago and am most excited to tell you of tonight's happenings. Unfortunately, its tough business summing up all the fun and silly antics we did, especially so after a day at work-thus a photo entry. ;)

Special appearance by Merrylyn Monroll.

Some random photo i really like for it's damn cute.

Then there was a fight over ... urm.. probably the last piece of Royce chocolate.

It was indeed a night of fruit overdose! There were banana muffins, banana cakes, banana fritters (goreng pisang), durian pancakes, durian pudding, yellow cherry tomatoes, strawberries and carrot cake with cheese amongst many other yummy fattening food.

All the girls are getting this pair from Darc0s. I love it too. It might be my next pair. :X SCREAMING SEXY ISNT IT?!

Isnt this amazing? The play with passion for photography and lights.

Welcome to The Dark Side.

Cant get enough of lesbian scenes? Join us at a trial argentine tango class, happening 10th Aug 2008, Sunday 6pm-7pm @ 88B Tanjong Pagar Rd, #03-01, 088509.

One more reason you should take up Argentine Tango.

Oh! And work! It was an awesome day with the 1st hour crawling pass and helter skelter the subsequent(s).
I came back with packed food and HL banana milk (just so i'll get into the milonga mood) and my assistant was already DONE with lunch! I had a bite(literally) and left the rest in clinic! Shoot me for being careless, somebody.
Im half way through (reading) a 32 page long journal bout creating aesthetically pleasing smiles. Content proper aside, it showed me how important it is to meet a need when one is hot on the idea, and how talking to clients is a game of wordplay. (The whole wordplay issue reminds me that i need to start reading up on law) Ruth, way to go, yo!

Signing Off,
The Dark Side.

Inserted Thursday, 1.54am.
As much as i love nuahing sessions with my bestie at home, I cant tolerate doing nothing at work. So i read in an attempt to keep up. Sometimes, the thought of such empty days in the future creeps in and casts a shadow of uncertainty and doubt over me. Am I not good enough, i question myself. Then i look through your messages, And am comforted. Thank you my friends. Your thoughts and well wishes that were sent when i just started work was my source of strength, and it still is. Please keep them coming, I'll be there should you need me too. Cheers to our careers, where ever we may be.

With love, a hug and 2 kisses,
Jovelle Ruth.

1 Life, Live It.

Its been a long while since Kel and i met up for an impromtu late night rendezvous.
I was introduced a stranger's online journal. Skeptical bout Kel's defination of must-see-sure-cry, i decided to check things out. True enough, tears welled in my eyes. More importantly, it reminded me of the caducity of life.

I want to cherish and enjoy the now that i have. I want the courage to tell someone i like him, and how awestruck i am by his knowledge and character, though there might never be a happy ending. I want to stop fooling around someday and be in love and union with someone. I dont want to slog for a wage and let life pass me by-I want to be able to help people who would never have the ability to repay me. I want to eventually have a nice apartment i call home-I want to host get-togethers at my place and capture candid shots of my friends on polaroid. I want to get lost in a dance and forget about everything else. I want to spend my retirement days on an island (dont remind me of Sg being an island) away from city life, diving, dancing and being in the arms of my lover. I want to live in the present, and the future.

I'm not against any chimnies(smokers)-in fact, i'd love to smoke weed, but i hope you'd all quit. I'm not against speeding but i hope you'd all drive safe. I'm not against casual sex but please play it safe. I'm not against tattoos but please make sure the needles are changed. There's an endless list of naughty dangerous acts that places strain on our lives. It doesnt really matter if I depart. But I dont want to go through the heartache of someone leaving me.. Of memories of us flashing back.

“You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he is gone,
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what he'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”

One life, live it, yo.

It's been awhile since you heard me rant ya? I do have my fair share of doubts and worries.
Well, I go home to a singing canary i call mum. And a sister who throws her stuff around my room-i just might rip her apart someday. And my brother whom i occassionally conflict with. Manners of a banshee. Sometimes i hunt for some indication of a brain in him.
At work, i'm leeching onto another's clientele, and it's worrying that the appointment pages are barely written.
In school, i can keep up with lecture, but im not practising tutorial questions back home. The thought of having to prepare for an exam, especially so an open book exam, sends darts of fears right through my heart. Time is gonna whizz pass, and it's high time i start doing something bout school-or at least, start studying in an attempt to alleviate some fears.

My greatest fear for now: School. I guess i've not given what i wanted to pursue much thought, used elimination methdology (again, like how i choose my diploma) got into it too quickly. Then again, i dont want to live on an idle street, sit comfortably in the hands of work, only to jolt to senses at 30. Too late.

Oh well, on a brighter note, being a student brings great privileges! I met the naughty girl, Tracy, and her habitual rubber time ended up with a famished me(us) having late lunch at !ch!banSushi and a Student's Cone from Henders0n's! I love those chunky almonds drowning in the delicate and creamy sin, carrying with it a subtle hint of kopi. HEY! If only it was drizzled with dulce de leche (one more reason to visit Argentina), wouldnt it be nice!?

Isnt it great that Sg's a sunny island all year round? We'll never run out of excuses for an icecream, or a popsicle!

Key Ingredients

Bon Jour. Just returned from Tango practica..

Because education is a process, not an event.

Anyways, here's an abstract of The Recipe of Success: 5 Key Ingredients Essential in the Making of a Dental Hygienist, written by Dafna Czudner, RDH. It encompasses simple stuff we know of in head knowledge. I'm still working towards an internalisation of the following points, and i hope you are too. Because we need to 'stand above the rest' in order to be successful and have a fulfilling career as a dental hygienist.

1) Constantly stay current. Dentistry moves ahead daily with new technologies and modalities and it is our responsibility to stay current through continuing education. This is necessary and essential for ourselves, colleagues and clients.

2) In order for a dental hygienist to be truly complete within their career, it is necessary to have an overall understanding of all aspects of dentistry. We are not only dental hygiene educators but also overall dental educators. It is our responsibility as a dental hygienist to be able to educate not only within the dental hygiene scope of practice, but also for all aspects of dental care.

3) The ability to communicate well . So much of what we teach and do is encompassed within communication skills, with both our colleges and our clients. Everything, including communication skills, can be taught and learned.

4) Be a team player. The ability to be flexible, to encompass amazing time management skills and not only focus on your days work but on everyone's day. This is something that is recognized and appreciated greatly by your employer, fellow co-workers and clients.

5) Lastly, for not only in your career as a dental hygienist, but in all aspects of ones life, having a positive attitude is something that is essential to hold. To be positive within your work environment makes for better working relationships, increases case acceptance with your clients and makes for a much happier and successful career overall.

Like everything else in life the more you practice the easier it gets.
I dont think i should say i need more practice. I need to remember what i practiced.

My First Day

Inserted 22nd July 2008, 1.38AM.

Not a fan of chinese pop, but here's my current favourite.

Kel, is our ALL TIME FAVOURITE-how i miss our poly days..

I feel like a blessed puppy!
Many have sent me their blessings via sms and MSN.

Here's an example..
trayc says: (12:27:36 AM)
GIVING  YOU ALL MY BLESSINGS FOR YOUR FIRST DAY OF WORK TMR.

Even dad, knowing my love for Thai style tapioca sent me this. "Starting work today. I just bought tapioca (from the market). Brush your teeth and prepare to sink into them". I was doing my 2nd patient when i received this. Kinda.. cute.

While mum was being overly biased and unsupportive. She didnt even know i'll be starting work today (talk bout living under the same roof), refused to help temporarily stitch a pair of black pants i bought for work (ended up wearing jeans :P), not waking me up for work (but woke bro up cause i remembered he needed to do something), sulking and frowning early in the morning!

Anyways. I wore Chance and prepared myself for a splendid day ahead.

It was a straightforward day with no major hiccups.. Oh my friend had this patient who was in a hurry. She was behind schedule by bout 15mins. So she worked a lil faster, ended a lil earlier than patient expected and he/she questioned her, 'so fast ar? I haven seen a dentist in 5 years you know' These strange people. (Oh so you know it's been so long since your last visit.) Do they just want another weekend kill-my-time-while-i-wait-for-my-sonny slot?

Few issues that i wanna blog about for self improvement.
1) Prior issue: My greatest fear was taking intra oral shots. Today: Some were way off but it was encouraging to know that some were not (too) bad. Evaluation: I guess it comes with practice and realising what went wrong. Area of improvement: I need to get used to the dSLR settings and angulate the mirror and camera at a 'parallel' axis for a good shot. Any tips, anyone?

2) Prior issue: I thought i'd be able to complete S&P in 30mins. Today: I took almost a full 45min slot per patient! Evaluation: Key emphasis be on patient's comfort and quality work. Need a lil fine tuning on comfort vs work time. Not a big issue thou.
I want to be patient orientated. I want to eventually have someone tell me, 'hey, the overall experience wasnt as scary as i thought it to be.' or a 'its squeaky clean now-amazing!' And the best thing? They pay AND thank you.

3) Prior to work: Failed to think about how to write clinical notes. HAHA! Shameful ++! Too pampered by !DEAS-just click away and tahhh dahhh! Today: Put what i learnt from attachments at NDC during trainee days into good use. Lol. Area of improvement: Write in fuller details, provides a good basis of communication between pat!ent dent!st and hyg!en!st.

4) Unable to evaluate source/cause of pain. Evaluation: Do tests and use elimination methodology.

5) Took my 1st BW. Ruth, remember, black surface faces cone. I need to take more peri apicals!

6) Take bigger side steps in media lunas.

Updated schedule for Monday:

10am-11pm: Swimming at C_C
11pm-1pm: Bathe, lunch and travel to Novena
1pm-4pm: Study
4pm-5pm: Head home bathe and change for work
5pm-5.30: Travel to work.
6pm-9pm: Work
10pm: Meet Rico pass diving photos and video.
This is why i need a huge bag. :P
I've been looking at... Isnt it damn chio. Teeheehee.
Hope Rico's able to help get it from HK! Its way overpriced here in Sg. Too bad if its out of stock. I want it quite badly, but logic keeps me alive.

Coming to think of it, the last bag i bought was my Freitag Donna in Dec 2006. Followed by a Legacy wristlet in May 2007. And a lacy bag 'whose' handle just gave way :(

The Scent Of A Woman

Hi Earthlings, I just returned home from Tango milonga (party) that was more like a practica. Needless to say, the ball of my feet's very tired and all i wish for is a foot massage and some extra service before hitting the sack. I've not been practising for awhile and its akin to starting all over again. The balance, getting used to the fatigue, feeling the man's lead, etc.
Jack pointed that i should allow the man to fully pivot me before i move, lest i react to the lead and lean backwards and loose my balance(again). Simple truth. But my basics? Cannot make it.

Much as i lamented bout being tossed around, I couldnt thank J enough for all the fun he and the others brought tonight. Being tossed around sounds like prata (yes you heard my stomach rumbling), but it suits me just fine-FAT. What am i saying.. Beats me.

Anyways.

I cant wait for Sunday's practica. I want to practise practise practise and practise a choreograph C found over YouTube.

As for now, i think its time to log out for today. Counting down: 01 day to the start of my next work chapter. Cheers to Chance and myself. Chance smells awesome (especially on a chauvinist). I cant wait to spritz it on on the 20th!

In case you're trying to date me, here's my schedule for your easy reference. Appointments given on a first come first served basis. Priority, however, given to certain significant (subjective) personnels. If there are last minute change of plans, I will not be legally bounded by you as you have no common law rights, much less a remedy. This is due to our agreement that is of social nature. Hence, the presumption is that there is no intention that the parties intended to be legally bound, however, this presumtion can be rebutted.

Leisure Dive Photo Entry

I attended lectures on Commercial Law during this intensive school week. The introductory lecture on Mon was a total turn off with CIare mumbling on bout the history of law. However, Tues-Thurs's lectures sparked poignant interest. These 3 days basically pointed that cases that seem morally right to a lay-persons eye can/will be subjected to a case-with leeway for rebuttal, of cause. Comm Law has brought much apprehension. Thing is, i'm very used to presenting my thoughts in point form, be it polytechnic days or in writing clinical notes. Yet commercial law questions that cost 5 marks need bout 1/2 a page of writing in passages-now you see why i'm a lil worried. Dont worry bout me-I'll just need to get used to structuring law advises. :)

Anyways. Here's a really random quote, "A wise woman puts a grain of sugar into everything she says to a man, and takes a grain of salt with everything he says to her."

Work starts this coming Sunday, and i thought i should give myself (another) dive treat. Last weekend(12-13th June) was one of overflowing bon mots, heart to heart talks, laughters and creative sessions. Procrastinator The Great has finally decided to save down-sized photos from the social networking site, FB, and provide you with a brief an update of my exciting life.

Disclaimer: The following is solely the thoughts of an ignorant personnel. In case you're thinking of holding me liable for any part of the following clause, i need to let you know that you, having chanced upon my blog becomes part of my social circle. Hence, the presumption is that there is no intention that the parties, you and me, be legally bound. Residue from comm law today.

During the last trip in June, these kittens were housed in a carton and could barely open their eyes. Look how much they've grown!

Slept on the same bed during June's trip. Room 1007!

Room mates

My bradder and i. He got an A* in the understanding of my cognitives. I cherish this friendship very dearly.
I lost his write-slate when my mask flooded (and i cant clear effectively for the skirting's too wide at the naso-labial region).
:X

Hall Of Fame for chasing a Titan triggerfish. "This fish is so big, and ugly(to us, from far).. Must take photo!" Actually, we were ignorant of its beauty and ferociousness! Luckily we were well taken care of by... I've never seen people finning so quickly underwater. Teeheehee. (They gave chase when my buddy didnt respond to their 'Danger Call'.)
The "I wont chase it again" pose.

Fictitious names to uphold privacy.
Jaysen: How many stars on the flag huh?
Jayden: I think 1.
Jaysen: Oh.. Malaysia.

2nd dive trip with Rico on board.

Someone tell me, why do I always get caught in the act?

Our Na\/y wannabe preparing to cut a corner. Think boat drift. Haha-COOL OR COOL?!

Most memorable act: Drinking Ribena underwater! The brainchild of leisure dive leader :)

Akin to a trishaw rider..

I cannot afford to sit (like them) and return with skin allergies!
Because im now (going to be) part of the private sector, i have to take extra care of my health and safety. To the best of my ability and responsibility, i cannot afford to jeopardize my work schedule!

Isnt is obvious who's skilled at turning off tanks and who's loosing buoyancy.. Hmmm..
Comm law getting to me again.. Please be advised that nothing found here has been reviewed by professionals with the expertise required to provide you with reliable information.

See, school's driving me to a corner!

Rainbows are a common sight during dive trips. Or are we too caught up during a regular work day that we fail to see the good in life? Oh yes, the stars(and satellite) twinkled beautifully against the black velvet sky too!

"Congratulations"

Dinner round 2. Plus latte and mango(real frozen fruit!) NestIe ice cream! There being no calorie count during holidays its not surprising its heading straight to my waist.

The boys..

Ladies..

Last but not least..
Here's an illustration of why you should avoid falling into a deep sleep on the way back. Stay conscious, or rather, semi awake no matter how tired you are. Cause once girls warm up with each other, they bitch as an entity.

When Adam first sinned, he pushed the blame to Eve. So did JunMing. You all should know by now, my insanity bout justice and proof. Here it is:

Sniff out the mischief bro!

Partners in crime.

"Smell it smell it now take it" (Caught in the act again.)

Charlie's Angels: See no evil hear no evil speak no evil
Target object: Dey beri evil !!

No woman should crush a man's ego in public setting.
"我们知错了.."

"I'm a woman, hear me roar."

Dive trips would be tiring business without awesome company. Congratulations to the newly certified open water, advanced and rescue divers!

All Of You've Been Waiting 4..

For All Of You(who)'ve Been Waiting 4.. something naughty.. erm, I mean, artsy..

From Champagne&Handcuffs, the Erotic Tooth Fairy.

... To my lovely dentist who looks so exotic,
To whom I write poems at their most erotic,

In which I kiss her all over and softly caress
Her beautiful skin after I help her undress,

And then gently fondle her beautiful bust
In bondage scenarios brimming with lust.

But alas she ignores me - doesn't give a toss
After tying her up with her own dental floss.

So I'll fondly remember her drilling my teeth
In her little white smock wearing nothing beneath …

Something not too funny, but entertaining.
Men are like..
1. Laxatives. They irritate the crap out of you.
2. Bananas. The older they get, the less firm they are.
3. Weather. Nothing can be done to change them.
4. Blenders, You need one, but you're not quite sure why.
5. Chocolates. Sweet, smooth, & they usually head right for your hips.
6. Commercials. You can't believe a word they say.
7. Government bonds. They take soooooooo long to mature.
8. Mascara. They usually run at the first sign of emotion.
9. Popcorn. They satisfy you, but only for a little while.
10. Snowstorms. You never know when they're coming, how many inches you'll get or how long it will last.
11 .Lava lamps. Fun to look at, but not very bright.
12. Parking Spots. All the good ones are taken, the rest are handicapped.

Dont ask me why i'm posting email forwards.

Shucks. Other than a school of fishes men and women wanting to kiss me, I'm developing crow's feet at barely 21! Dont go on and talk bout obviously existant my eye bags and dark eye circles. Thanks. (Friday 2.45AM)

When things get too coincidental, i freak out (by smiling myself silly in the lift) for awhile.
1) I was returning home from school on Wed, when a young lady asked for directions around the neighbourhood. I ended up giving her a crash course on makan places & amenities around the area, and convenient supermarkets to go to-ToaPayoh for N+UC, PlazaSing&Novena for C.S. and Cityhall(workplace) for J.M.. Only to realise she is my direct adjacent neighbour! 1 year my senior hailing from Kimchi land! Teeheeehee. Now i've homestay in U.S., Canada, India and KOREA!

2) My secondary school picked-up-from-the-bus-stop buddy and i share a common friend! They met during wakeboarding, and i-in uni. Cool or cool? (Amalgamates, think: AIanY!p's style)

Seriously, i kinda miss..
.. working with AMALGAM. Yes, you heard me right-the silvery dental filling material with toxic MERCURY.
.. condensing amalgam so well the top layer gets shiny from mercury being 'purged' out.
.. carving fissures and flushing it against the cavity wall.
.. removing old amalgam fillings cause the entire chunk gets dislodged from the cavity. The feeling goes like this, 'YES, ITS OUT!'
.. retention properties of amalgam in horrid isolation control situations. Amalgam likes it wet. (No pun intended.)
.. GV Black and his silly compromise sound tooth structure principles.

All Of You've Been Waiting 3..

School started on 7th July from 7-10pm from Mon - Thurs (thank god it's only 2 weeks intensive) and a Tues night and Sat afternoon for the rest of the semester. Frankly, im still filled with tons of uncertainties bout what the future holds, whether i'll work in the finance industry or stay in healthcare. Im clueless at whether i'll be able to complete the 3 year part time course leading to an Honours in Economics and Finance. I will, however do my utmost best at managing school, work and social life. In the event i fail terribly, at least i took a step admist the darkness, at least i tried.
In any case, the yo-yo stock market is something that has piqued my interest when i was a lil girl. Dad used to be a broker and i marvelled at stories of people making it big, cringed at near-death experiences of others who got burnt. Anyways.
I sat beside a loner (just like i am) for 2 days straight and Adr!an is his name. I've decided to take off my hoity-toity persona at lecture on the 3rd day of school, and unzip my (extremely) sociable self.

Most of my close friends asked bout my 1st day of school. It means more than an SMS. It carries thought, sincerity, and an effort to maintain a friendship. Thank you and i love you all. Oh yes! It's very nice and sweet of jackass to get me a present for new school-new job and birthday.

I dont deserve this..

CHANEL CHANCE EAU DE PARFUM 100ML!
POWERPACKED YAYYYNESS!
Opening ceremony be on 20th July 08, Sunday-1st day of work.

Adapted wholesale description of Chance from Chanel's website..
One world was ending and a new one was about to be born. I happened to be there; a chance came my way and I took it». .. CHANCE woman knows how to follow her instincts, to have confidence in her strengths and to accept her weaknesses. She does not try to be seductive, but everything she does makes her extremely sexy.

I've been 'wasting' my days away since my last day at HPB, 25th of June-Turning in at unearthly hours, waking up for breakfast with the lunch crowd, tying up strings at the Board, shopping, catching movies, sipping coffee with a journal and a pal, just to name a few. Going on a dive trip this weekend too. (I know i've been spending alot, and its time to curb.) All these in anticipation that i'll have 'no-life' once work starts. Then again, many of my friends beg to differ. They say, "you just need to settle down and soon you'll be out till late night again". Thing is, situation is different now-im serving the private sector and i have appointments scheduled. Gone were the days i have breakfast at work, control my patient flow, joke with my clients, etc. (I think i miss working for the Board) Anyways, I could had managed work and school(intensive week) altogether, but for once, i choose to be a lil laid back.

I've yet to start work but thus far, but it's been nothing short of awesome. I've the freedom of speech and loads of learning opportunities. I shall not fill you in bout my take home and benefits-its nothing i can be proud of. Afterall, i made this decision and i cant blame anyone but myself should anything screw up. I do, however, foresee a change in situation 6 months later, freedom cries 12 months later and an overall return in experience and vitamin M in the near future. To put it plainly, fruit of labour comes after incubation period of 12 months! Give me some time, i can and i will make it.

With this, cheers to my great success.
