Few things that crossed my mind..
Market closed weak on Fri, was looking forward to the start of a new week! But dad, the kiasi investor wasnt keen on buying. Initially his concerns were on PedraBranca. But even after positive world court ruling outcomes, he gave me other reasons! Sighs.
W.Buffet says US is already in recession. Somebody tell us whats gonna happen next please!
Post work for this week.
Mon-Track&Alumni meeting.
The alumni meeting gave me a positive insight to the pay im currently drawing. Gross salary is lower than in the private sector due to benefits(medical, dental, lifestyle) and leave scheme. I am stupid to have overlooked, to have not taken this into consideration.
The grass is greener on the other side, cause there's more shit(fertiliser).
The following is purely my current point of view. Views might/will change. And im saying not cause i'm already on the other side.
I think we need to understand that our clientele is not entirely dependant on our patients, whether they accept 0ral hea1th therapis+s or not. I cant deny the fact that how we portray ourselves and how we execute our service directly affects their attitude towards a changing system in dental care in Sg. The emphasis lies in clinic management. See it this way.
1) If your d0ctor-in-charge thinks you're cutting a piece off his pie, then you'll only get patients when he has better things to do. But if your DIC thinks that by delegating procedures frees up his time for complex procedures, then im rather positive one wont be slapping on mosquitos all the time.
2) If the system at the clinic is such that "my doctor does not do ___ at all, you'll have to schedule an appointment with my RD|-|." Then there's no need to worry bout eating grass for the month.
3) Hmmm. What else. Ok.
As much as pay packet is the main point of focus for those heading to the private sector, i think there're a few factors for consideration when joining a team, such as, most importantly, (1) learning opportunities. Whether the DIC is willing to impart little skills, such as taking intra oral photographs, x rays (?), case presentation to patient, short courses/lectures, amongst many other things i cant think of right now. (2) Assistance. (3) Clinic management, whether there's room for open and frank discussion. And what else, you tell me?
Tues-Track&XenBar.
A1an Yip once asked, how often do we get compliments-i just did! Its been a long while since i last got a taste of job satisfaction. Im on my way to a full mouth rehab for a 7year old child. On all of her very badly rotten deciduous lower molarS, i did 4 tooth coloured fillings that look like ceramic crowns! Showed the before and after to her and her dad. He was very impressed! The kid immediately went, 'thank you jie jie'. Her oral hygiene has improved tremendously since her initial visit with moi. *Skips around* Next up is to Fuji7(fissure seal) all her permanent molars. Extract her deciduous root stumps, leaving only deciduous canines for anchorage, an E(another 'crown'!) and her perm 6s. And claim my hard earned Dental Treatment Completed quota. *Phew.
Exercise cut due to bad weather.
I just returned home from a good tongue lash and I'm still feeling ticklish! I think i really need a little booster dose of 'scolding' once in awhile. Tee hee hee. Sunday. Hope i dont get IT againnnnnn! Oh yes, I found a walking kaki, Diana, from private class!
The balls of my feet are hurting and its time i turn in!
Wed-Salsa class, wasnt quite worth mentioning. :( I dont exactly follow the 1.5 turn cross body lead. Thurs-Track. Replace 'k' with 'y'. I miss that lady so much, i had so much to tell her! Fri-Tango class. Sat-Swim. Sun-Practica!
