After church, lil sis and i met Dad and i drove them to Blk 680 AMK Ave 5 for western food at Botak Jones. We had salmon, steak(medium) and lamb chop(medium). Salmon($12)-damn juicy. Steak(200gm $14) and lamb(200gm $11) were done to purrrfection, pretty-ly pink and tender. They claim to have the steak tenderized via non-chemical means. Peppery brown sauce was served on a seperate saucer, allowing carnivorous me to sink my teeth into BEEF. It was so palatable without the sauce that i almost went "mooo". White sauce trickled down the lamb chop that was seasoned with rosemary. Each set was served with generous amounts of lettuce, tomato, colesaw and crinkle cut fries seasoned with spice. The average wait time's bout 45-60mins, but the first set came at bout 25mins later. All of us were feasting after 35mins.
After which we went for a spin in Uncle Patrick's Toyota Camry. He's out of town on a business trip and has given me full permission to use his car. ;) But sorry folks, not confident on parking, still an apprentice under Dad's control.
First destination was Tanglin village at Dempsey Road as i wanted to check Oosh out. Unfortunately it was raining and we didnt get out of the car. Afterwhich, we headed for Mount Faber's Jewel Box. Heading home on the expressway, it poured cats and dogs. I could barely see the left rear view mirror and needed extra eyes during lane change. Man, it sure is dangerous driving in bad weather conditions.
Had to take a couple of evasive actions, all of which are caused by taxis. Some were high beamed, some were cursed by Dad, none were horned. Key lesson for today: Remember to check for safety and blindspots before taking evasive actions.
The Camry's quite cool, when compared to the Altis and Lancer! Its seats are adjusted electronically. The seats can not only be brought forward or backward, its height and incline is adjustable too! Imagine incorporating a back massage. Fabulous. Its handbrake is located mesial to the footbrake and its interior is spacious.
Kel, sorry for not replying to your sms. I got a good tongue lashing for sms-ing at the traffic light. Phone was confiscated for a moment. And by the time i laid my hands on it, i rather let u sleep soundly. :)
Cheers and x o to D.
