Beauty

I was looking through a social networking site, Facebk and chanced upon photos taken on Sat's evening at Carmen's birthday celebration. The first thing that came to mind was, "i have beautiful friends!"

Then i thought deeper-what is beauty? The multiple rings on the neck of tribe women in Thailand, bounded feet, tattoos, fashion trends, anorexics, etc?

We've heard enough of beauty only being skin deep, beauty being in the eyes of the beholder (some say BEERholder), etc.
How beauty is defined is often a societal stereotype, with much influence from the media. Beauty is so often derived from imagery of hottest film/tv stars. In recent years, there were media encouragements reaching out with 'love your bodies' messages, yet its effectiveness is questioned.

I guess anything physical is substantial. The beauty of a person should be defined by their character and the values they hold.
My closer friends are all beautiful. To me, their beauty shines through a different medium, and i embrace them all. Their physical beauty is an attitude of how they carry themselves and can never be replicated.

Ask me bout plastic surgery, why not! Rhinoplasty and breast implants, anyone?

"I never saw an ugly thing in my life: for let the form of an object be what it may - light, shade, and perspective will always make it beautiful."

Ok i bestow to you a photo of my pretty friends. Urm, one single but not available, the other taken.
